Reviews of the book Matilda McGruder

The tale of Matilda, her dog, and her scooter is a fun ride for kids and parents alike. Creative, colorful artwork brings the poetic meter to life. The elements and characters are immediately relatable and keep readers (and non-readers) engaged as the story scoots along. Matilda’s tale also provides important lessons about friendship and the power of love. Altogether, this children's book offers a wonderful vehicle to share story time with kids.

Smart, Funny, and Easy to Read.

My grandchildren love this book. It is their favorite book to read before bedtime. The pages are already smudged from use and slightly dogeared at the edges. Not only is it easy and fun to read, but it also has a great message of how to turn a bully into a friend. It is a great story with very creative and fun illustrations.

What a funny, vibrant, and special book. We read it as a family with two kids that are 11 and 8. It was the perfect story to take turns reading. Everyone was laughing, and it certainly won't be a book we only read once. The illustrations are amazing, and the kids loved looking at them and giggled as we read. Perfect gift!

This newly published children's book has a great "Dr. Seus-like" story that is fun to read aloud. It also has beautiful and engaging illustrations. It is a great book for kids of all ages. Even our 18-month-old sits quietly studying the illustrations. I believe this is the first book by the author and illustrator, I certainly hope there is more to come.

My daughter and I really enjoyed this book. The story focuses on love, loss, the ability to change, and acceptance of others who do change. It does it with rhythm and rhyme, and great illustrations. This is one to pass down for generations. Well done!
